I??ve been intrigued by Gardena Ramen ever since I read rameniac??s promise of ???the finest shoyu ramen in L.A.??? Since I tend to favor the classic shoyu ramen over any other new-fangled choices, I couldn??t wait to try it. When I finally had some time to head up to Torrance yes, it??s Gardena Ramen, but in Torrance, I was as giddy as a school girl on a first date Ok, maybe more like a school boy, but school boys don??t get giddy??do they?. Gardena Ramen - Torrance, CA

1840 W. 182nd St. Torrance, CA 90504 310 324-6993 Gardena Ramen in Torrance? I’m not sure what the story is there but Gardena Ramen does sound better than Torrance Ramen. Intrigued by rameniac’s heavy claim that &quotGardena Ramen serves the best ramen in Southern California&quot, I definitely had to check it out! Located on the corner of 182nd and Western, Gardena Ramen is a quaint little ramen-ya with a clear emphasis on simplicity. The menu consists of just a few items written on plain white paper

Last weekend was the Hokkaido Fair at Mitsuwa says Rameniac. I always miss it, and twice I have missed Sumire, one of the most famous miso ramen-yas in Japan. I haven’t been watching Japanese TV so I miss the Mitsuwa commercials. I do not think there are enough tears in my body to cry out my pain. How much longer must I live without my miso butter corn ramen?!

Ramen Setagaya: Oishii desu!

Filed under: East Coast, Restaurants, Far East, Pork, Raves &amp Reviews Last week I wrote about Rameniac, a guide to all things ramen so detailed and descriptive that it left me jonesing for a hot bowl of the stuff. As promised, I did indeed trek from my native Queens to Manhattan’s East Village that same afternoon to satisfy my urge. Rather than head to one of the neighborhood’s longstanding ramenyas, I decided to try out Ramen Setagaya, a new spot that opened in mid-June amid much fanfare

Ramen and the Rameniacs

I love Asian food. Part of that is probably nostalia I had a great trip to South Korea one year and part of it is because much Japanese and Chinese culture and cuisine has permeated the city that I live in. One of the Japanese foods I like best in autumn is ramen. It??s quick to make, feeds the masses and keeps me warm when I??m writing. I might, maybe, possibly consider myself a minor ramen fan, but not a rameniac.? I??m a hobbyist rather than a serious devotee. I know this because minor rame
